How to Restore WordPress Backup Manually

We strongly recommend you that perform a full backup every two or three days, and make a database backup every day. After making the WordPress Backup save in to your PC and online cloud storage sites like Amazon S3, Dropbox, Google Drive. There are many reasons can happen why you are restoring your website. Usually Peoples restore hacked site to remove malicious scripts from their site. So it is better for you to wipe all your contents from the server including WordPress core files and directories.

cPanel is the faster way to remove all contents of your site from the server. To wipe all your contents from the server through cPanel, login to your cPanel account and jump to the Files section tab then press the File Manager tab. In next window choose the root directory select all files and delete them. For more information see image below.

Upload WordPress Database

Now its times to upload your site’s database. Your site’s database contains all your comments, posts, pages, settings, and other things of your site and it is the most important element of your site. To restore your backup you need to access phpMyAdmin, Which is located in the cPanel. In any trouble you can always contact your hosting provider for information on how to access phpMyAdmin.

After logging in to cPanel go to Database > phpMyAdmin. Click on your site database. If your old database is still exist in phpMyAdmin, you need to click on the Drop link to delete all the database from phpMyAdmin.

After deleting the old database you need to import your fresh database in to PhpMyAdmin. From the top navigation menu click the ‘Import’ button and then locate the database from your computer and click on the Go button to start the restoring process.

Upload Files To Your Server Via FTP

Now its time to upload the files into the server. Simply open FileZilla or any FTP client you are using. Fill the host, username and password boxes in FileZilla and hit the connect button. After Logging in to your site through FTP client navigate to the root directory. Now locate the backup folder in your computer and start the uploading process.

Remember Before you start the files uploading process, make sure that your backup is clean from malicious scripts.
